Background
University Experts provides a single source of information about
campus experts. Information here is a combination of information
entered by experts themselves and information queried from various
authoritative sources on campus (like name, education, phone
number).
There was a soft launch during the end of Fall
2005. It was officially launched on January 30, 2006. Here is a link

How do I get listed in experts.sjsu.edu?
Current faculty members and MPPs with an academic background
that identifies themselves in any of the following categories: Media
Contact, External Speaker or Collaborative Researcher can opt to be
listed via experts.sjsu.edu. This is not a faculty directory and
access to MySJSU is
required. Please follow the links to documentation below.

terminal degree is not accurate, how can I correct this ?

- I have entered my information. So, what happens next?
Information for university experts is updated each business day between 8:00 am - 10:00
am.
Visit the experts page at http://experts.sjsu.edu to see your updated
information.
Experts Profile- Where does information, I entered via MySJSU appear ?

- Why does my information not show during any of the searches ?
You should identify yourself as an expert in atleast one of these topics speaker, collaborative researcher or contact for news media.
- Why is my picture not showing up with my profile?
You need to first allow the display of your Tower ID picture - a check box can be found in the Experts Info screen. Wait for a business day for your changes to get updated. After this, if you still don't see your picture, you need to contact the Bursar's office.
- Where is my contact information coming from?
Working title,phone number, building, room & floor is provided by the ePhonebook (Faculty & Staff directory). If you need to make any changes, please visit the Faculty & Staff directory and click on Update My Listing link.
- Are the Topics pre-defined?
Yes. Currently Office of Public Affairs maintains the list of active topics
- How does the keyword search work?
Keyword search, searches for keywords in all available contexts (like teaching,publication,expertise) ans displays results and the context in which they are found.
